WHAT IS ERASMUS+ KA103 MOBILITY PROGRAM?

The Erasmus + KA103 program is an exchange program within the scope of 28 European Union countries and candidate countries. Mobility is taking place with countries that we have agreements with, such as Austria, Finland, Italy, Belgium, Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Bulgaria, Hungary, Latvia, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Macedonia. There are also exchanges with countries such as Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland, which are not members of the European Union but are members of the European Economic Area. To participate in this program, countries must have the Erasmus Charter For Higher Education (ECHE).

 

WHO CAN APPLY?
Students registered in the formal education program of higher education institutions can benefit from this mobility within the contracted countries. In the context of non-contracted countries, we can make an agreement with your university for mobility. For this, your school’s international relations office can contact us.

 

HOW TO APPLY?
Students who are selected as priority should be nominated to our institution by e-mail. The application process starts with the nomination of the students. Home university should be sent the nomination by e-mail to uib@aku.edu.tr. Applications without official nominations will not be accepted.

ERASMUS+ GRANT FOR TURKEY AND COST LIVING IN TURKEY

When you come to our country, you will receive a 1200 £ (300£ for a month) grant for an average of 4 months. Turkey is one of the cheapest countries in terms of cost of living compared to other western countries. Especially Afyonkarahisar is a more suitable province in terms of cost of living compared to other provinces. Incoming exchange students at AKU are exempted from paying tuition fee during their study period. The only expenses during the exchange period are living and accommodation costs. Living and accommodation costs depend very much on your personal spending habits and expenses for travelling and social life. But generally 200-250 € can be considered as enough for a student who wishes to study in Afyonkarahisar.

ACCOMMODATION

ÜNİYURT, which is located within the structure of the university, can provide accommodation for you. The dormitory is located on campus. So you can study without having to worry about transportation. There are also many private dormitories and apartments near the university.

HEALTH INSURANCE
Erasmus students must obtain a valid private health insurance in Turkey. At the same time, the insurance policy should include a clause that guarantees hasta inpatient and outpatient treatment . Incoming students can also get a state or private health insurance in Turkey. The private insurance costs around 200-250 ₺ (35-40 €) for six months. If you come to our country for 90 days or more, you will need a residence permit.

 For Residence Permit, students are required to collect the following documents:

o Passport copy-Visa
o Four biometric photos
o A photo in CD (width 220 pixel, height 290 pixel)
o Student Enrollment Letter (AKU-IRO)
o Acceptance Letter (AKU-IRO)
o Health Insurance in Turkish (Health Insurances in other languages will not be not accepted. You can make a new health insurance in Afyon with paying 200-250 TL).
o Dormitory Address Letter (It will be taken from the place you are staying in).
o 60 or 70 TL registration payment

 

VISA
Visas must be obtained from a Turkish Consulate, generally the one nearest your place of residence. You must take your “Acceptance Letter” from Afyon Kocatepe University and apply to the Turkish Consulate with the other required documents.

ORIENTATION AND LANGUAGE COURSE
We organize an orientation program for students coming from abroad. In the program, we first introduce our university and our city and then we organize a city tour. In this way, our students coming from abroad provide the opportunity to integrate with other foreign students and meet the office staff. Turkish language course will be opened if demand is sufficient.
